美失智老人認錯家　被誤當賊遭擊斃

【施旖婕／綜合外電報導】美國一名失智症患者，離家後迷路，凌晨錯走到到一個陌生人的住所，屋主以為有賊，開槍將他擊斃。

72歲的威斯布魯格(Ronald Westbrook)是退伍空軍，患失智症，事發在前天，他在郊區摸黑遊蕩4小時，凌晨4時走到離家5公里的一間屋子，他按門鈴後並試圖開門，屋主漢德斯(Joe Hendrix)的未婚妻沒有應門，反而報警。

漢德斯在警員未到時，持手槍走到後院，見到威斯布魯格後向他發出口頭警告，由於威斯布魯格的病情嚴重，甚至不能說話，沒有回應漢德斯的警告，因此漢德斯誤以為威斯布魯格是竊賊，連開4槍，威斯布魯格當場被擊斃。漢德斯暫時被未起訴。
