【動新聞】聖誕老公公的馴鹿　是公還是母

【施旖婕／綜合報導】聖誕節到了，相傳聖誕老人會在平安夜乘著由馴鹿拉的飛天雪橇，送禮物給小朋友，而領頭的馴鹿名為魯道夫(Rudolph)，其餘的8隻馴鹿分別為猛衝(Dasher)、跳舞(Dancer)、歡騰(Prancer)、凶婆娘(Vixen)、雷(Donder)、閃電(Blitzen) 丘比特(Cupid)、彗星(Comet)，但你知道這9隻馴鹿是公的還是母的？

根據美國網站《mental_floss》報導指出，這個謎團有解了。因馴鹿不管公母，都會長出獨一無二的鹿角，如同人類的指紋一樣，可以用鹿角來辨識馴鹿身份。不過公馴鹿在進入交配季節時，也就是每年的12月初，角就會脫落，母馴鹿不會。

從歷年流傳的聖誕馴鹿圖像來看，幫聖誕老公公拉車的馴鹿都還有角，因此可以推論，這些拉雪橇的馴鹿應該都是母的。但是領頭的「魯道夫」因為名字偏向男性化，因此較難推斷是公鹿或母鹿。
