導演魏德聖昨天（20日）特地站台高中棒球的年度盛事玉山盃青棒賽，除了感謝新片《KANO》拍攝期間大家的幫忙，更透露電影已經剪好了，直說：「真的非常好看！」至於該片花費他不願透露，怕又被嫌在「哭窮」！
魏德聖此次擔任《KANO》監製，電影大量啟用素人演員，他也特別在記者會現場感謝在場高中棒球隊教練、球員們，在拍攝期間給予的協助與幫忙。他也提到，拍攝這部電影讓他深刻體會到高中棒球的精神，「那種只想把球打出去、把球接下來，一種單純的力量」，魏德聖說。
提到藝文和體育的力量，魏德聖直說：「是一個國家進步的指標，也代表一個國家的國力強不強」，甚至認為高於經濟之上，因為像台灣就是一個很需要「英雄」的國家，而且是一群英雄，群體的力量可以帶動整體的力量，就好比最近再次發熱的棒球競賽，可以看出那股氣勢。

最近他也和導演馬志翔完成了《KANO》的剪接，接下來要完成聲音以及特效的部分。原先剪出來大約3個半小時的片長，後來導演再細修，修完約3小時，但不一定是最後長度。由於有了《賽德克‧巴萊》的前例，魏德聖笑說：「不會有上下集」，但這3小時的片長裡「不會有冷場」，他直說：「看球賽也不止3小時吧！而且我們也可以站起來吶喊！」 (接下一頁)
